The
Manager of Partnerships and Membership will have oversight, planning and
execution of a diverse and expanded revenue model through corporate
philanthropy, public funding and new member acquisition. This role is an
exciting opportunity to build on a strong foundation and jointly engage
stakeholders, investors, and ecosystem influencers as TechAlliance executes a
bold vision.
The Manager of Partnerships and
Membership plays a pivotal role in cultivating and soliciting support from
corporations, ecosystem capacity builders, small and medium size enterprises, and
investors. This position works to establish long term partnerships, strengthen
existing relationships, and initiate new contacts with revenue driving outcomes.
These partnerships are meant to inspire greater and more consistent investment
with TechAlliance and will result in additional engagement by the corporations
through brand exposure, corporate innovation ventures and sponsorship
opportunities. The Manager of Partnerships and Membership will oversee all
outreach to prospective corporate donors, partners, and private entities, to
secure funding in support of TechAlliance's highest priorities.
The ideal candidate will
demonstrate deep alignment with TechAlliance's overall mission in Southwestern
Ontario and Canadian innovation to drive positive societal and economic
outcomes; have exceptional knowledge of the startup ecosystem in the greater
London area, Ontario, Canada and globally; have entrepreneurial leadership in
the technology sector and have a good understanding of general business
strategy, finance, operations, sales and marketing, government relations and
communications, and data governance and analysis.
Incumbent Qualifications
· Bachelor's
degree in entrepreneurship, business, communications or marketing.
· Five
years of progressive business development experience and sales.
· Demonstrated
ability to strategically identify opportunities within corporations that align
with the priorities of TechAlliance and possesses fundamental understanding of
research, qualification, cultivation, and stewardship, as well as face-to-face
solicitations.
· Experience
working directly with decision makers and the most senior levels of an
organization, and the ability to effectively strategize and engage various
groups and constituents for multi-year commitments.
· The
ability to mine, extract and analyze data to develop and execute a prospect
strategy and process coupled with marketing and communications strength to
align to corporate social responsibility platforms.
· Knowledge and
understanding of key partners in the tech ecosystem and keen to engage with and
influence elected officials, government relations, public servants, policy
advisors, and advocacy groups.
· Highly developed
skills in organizational efficiency, budget management and project leadership,
including demonstrated accomplishments while working with cross-functional
teams.
· Strong team player
with great interpersonal and communication skills who is able to contribute to
a vibrant team culture and core values, while prioritizing multiple and
changing demands.
· Must have excellent
writing skills, in-depth knowledge of principles of writing, including grammar and
style, argument, and coherence and attention to detail, editing strengths with
an excellent command of the English language.
· Superior oral
skills coupled with active listening and demonstrating professionalism in both
presentation and demeanor.
· Exemplary
attention to detail with excellent planning and time management while working
independently using an above average level of initiative and demonstrated
experience in exercising diplomacy and good judgement.
· Additional
preference will be given to candidates that also possess grant writing
experience and/or experience in government relations.
· Proficient in
Salesforce, Monday, Slack, MS Office 365, Eventbrite, ability to learn and use software
programs, active participant on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram
· Valid driver's licence, access to a vehicle, and resides
in Elgin, Huron, Lambton, Middlesex, or Oxford County.
